Aggregated audio device not working anymore
#1
I have a 4.0 speakers configuration. I created an aggregated device in Audio MIDI Setup with my analog outputs.
I have been using that aggregated device in XBMC 12.3 for months without problems, by selecting that device as the main system device, and by choosing 'Analog' as audio output and '4.0' as my speaker configuration in the XBMC preferences screen.
In every version of Kodi I've tested, I can either select the first two channels or the last two. Are aggregated devices not supported anymore, or is there a way I can solve this?

Thanks.

could you post a debug log (wiki) pllease? It might be that in the current state such sort of multistream devices which really belong to one single audio configuration are not supported anymore. (those are complicated to handle with our current sudio engine which on the other hands solved a lot of other problems we had before).

Here you are: http://xbmclogs.com/pzz8a2weg
I really hope there's a way to make my configuration work with the new audio engine in Kodi. I was quite happy with XBMC Smile

Sorry if I'm replying now, I don't know why but I didn't receive the email notification of your reply, even though I'm subscribed to the topic...
Anyway yeah, it's a hackintosh. I hope it's all the same to you.

If I may ask, I'm just wondering, did you decide to give up on the problem?

Thanks anyway.

OS X 10.10.3 forced me to move on from 12.3 as well, the last build that worked for me with my audio interface (Metric Halo 2882). I was hoping that I could hold on to 12.3 long enough until Kodi properly supported studio grade audio hardware but I guess I was wrong. Such a shame because overall Kodi really handles a *lot* better in my experience than Plex, let alone Squire etc... Sad

I still get decelerated playback fwiw... Whereabouts in Germany are you located, Memphiz? Maybe I'll be able to send you my sound card for a few weeks when I go travel later this year, if you're still interested?

Jena atm ... interested for sure. But before you consider this i would like to see a monitor file to see if its not a different issue then the one described by the OP.
