Not where was it in previous versions? Where is it in the current menu structure? I cannot find any trace of it.

That Mini Guide indicates that there are problems 5.0.6 and one should go back to 5.0.5. Is this also true for 5.0.7, go back to 5.0.5?

No idea I have not upgraded yet to test. Its very easy to upgrade and downgrade with OpenElec on the RPi so you can do your own testing.
