xySubFilter is set to "Always load". If I stop the video and restart, the subtitles start correctly (the one I downloaded, I mean).
Make sure that xySubFilter is set up in the filter config. The starter pack files from about a month ago didn't have it assigned by mistake.

just tried using Addic7ed and works for me, i need a full debug log to see what happens in your case
