Yes, I still got the issue. I'm using a Asus Chromebox hooked up to a Pioneer VSX-922-K.
I recently updated from OE 5.0.x to 6.0.3, still the same issue.
In my case the advancedsettings solution doesn't work.

I really hope there will be a definite solution for this!

The solution is not given by kodi. As it has nothing to do with kodi. It's a kernel / handshake issue.

If you did not do yet, try latest LibreELEC Milhouse build and if it does not work -> bugs.freedesktop.org
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

I'm no longer experiencing this problem.

I updated the coreboot firmware of my Asus Chromebox through Matt Devo's Chromebox EZ setup.
Then I did a clean install of LibreElec, latest stable version 7.0.1 and imported my previously backed up library in Kodi.
Changed all settings recommended by Matt Devo on the wiki.

Now it all works perfect again.

I updated my OpenElec to latest LibreElec before, but the issue was still there. Therefore I assume that updating the coreboot firmware might have solved the problem.
This option is obviously only possible for users with a Chromebox.
