HP 260 G1 [Haswell Celeron 2957U]
Thanks, I have installed AVG antivirus along with google chrome and netflix app. Maybe I need to remove these to speed it up but from my times, windows was still loading at 18 seconds. ie the windows logo and the spinning whirl underneath. It then proceeds to autologin and then launches kodi. There is about a 3 second blank screen between windows log on and kodi starting.

I used my work credentials to ask HP about the SATA Cable availability. Due to current availability they actually recommended contacting their re-sellers (see list below). I'm ringing round these companies this afternoon to see what stock levels people have - I'll update when I hear back.

P.S I have one of these HP units up and running and think they're fantastic. Just for the craic I ran it with Aeon MQ6 Public Beta on Windows 8.1 and still runs even PseudoTV without a blip. 3D, 1080p high bitrate no issues either. Haven't touched the OS or made any other optimisations. I'm using the Maplin's remote people recommended as well as the Displayport to HDMI one on the first post.

I have just called a few of them, they either said the lead time was around 6 week or they didn't have a clue and it may have been discontinued.

One of the companies did say he would email hp but I doubt he will get anymore information.

It seems doubtful that we will get one.

Its a shame there isn't an alternative cable.

Same experience as me. Rang HP, they suggested I ring around the re-sellers. I rang around all of them, none of them had stock or could quote a guaranteed delivery.

Curently have orders in with HP Partstore (second order - first one was automatically cancelled and refunded after they couldn't meet their self-set delivery deadline), and Lamdatek (who have just got in touch to say September delivery). HP were saying August.

Initial experience with HP on the phone was dreadful. First told 6 weeks, then 6 months... However I've had a much more useful e-mail conversation with a named person in the HP operation who seems to know what they are doing. As it is a corporate product I'd expect HP to continue to provide spares for a while - and they sell a model with that cable in it. I suspect they've been a bit surprised by a spike in the number of orders so have had difficulty managing stock.

I may end up with two...

I would be interested to know how many people have bought one of these boxes for kodi use. It has been featured on other forums and on hotukdeals so the numbers may be huge.

Im using windows built in a/v & firewall.
Seems to hog the system a lot less than other av software.

Regarding the keyboard, the only thing i have enabled is Wake from Keyboard. And mine boots up everytime from pressing power on the keyboard.
The pc is never actually switched off at the mains, if that makes a difference....

It doesn't make a difference on mine whether its been switched off at the mains or not.
In fact when you switch the mains on you'll notice the power light and any USB devices you have light up briefly and at the same time the brief post messages I mentioned before will display if your monitor or TV is on

This is how I currently have mine setup.

I purchased the following form this product data sheet.

http://www.hp.com/united-states/campaign...asheet.pdf

Vesa sleeve from http://www.kikatek.com/P573783/G1K22AA-H...78_711_712

DVD ODD module which I purchased from ebay. I have slightly modified it and put a slim blu-ray drive inside, took a bit of messing about but works great.

I then purchased 2 separate vesa mounts from amazon, one to convert my 400x400 tv down to 200x200 and then a vesa plate to mount the 100x100 vesa sleeve to the plate.

Please excuse the bit of dust and let me know what you think, im really happy with it, all im missing now is the hard to come by sata cable.

Looks sweet. The DVD module looks like it was meant for the HP260! But I'm confused I thought you can attach the unit without the sleeve. It's got integrated vesa mount.

Good job though, thanks for sharing.

P.s. how big is your TV it's huge

Thanks Xuth for that list. Just a question, did you get the maplin remote specifically for the power on from shutdown function? If so does it work with that remote?

Has everyone got the windows 10 update icon yet? I've posted on how you can manually force it on first post. How does it work, if you don't reserve your copy, do you miss out?

On the subject of the sata cable that eludes us all, how about using an adapter in the m2 slot to convert it to take a 2.5 hard disk drive.
After hours of searching I found this on Amazon.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/mSATA-Adapter-mi...+Converter

Will just need a sata cable and you should be able to add a 2.5 ssd drive. The power cable seems to be included which I presume will connect to the board and pass on the power from the M2 slot.

That looks pretty good, but it sticks or to much, so you won't be able to use the tray, but the m.2 is a sata drive itself, why not put the money towards a bigger m.2 drive.

Also have a look at this
http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=232459

I've got a feeling that the more people that ask for the cable from HP, the faster they will produce it. ( making it in a batch is more cost effective?)

Just read the description to the adaptor you posted. It's msata , wear as ours is m.2 sata. I don't think they are compatible. But the one I linked to is compatible. But hire world someone attach the USB? Waiting for the cable seems like the best idea

The module is meant for the HP260, you can mount the module without the vesa sleeve perfectly fine, I wanted to mount the 260 to my tv.

Without the vesa sleeve I wouldn't be able to mount to my tv.

The tv is 46".
