Is there a simple way to split my TV into two groups.
One for old/ended TV shows and one for current show?

You can have separate folders for TV shows, but the listings will be joined into one listing in the library as one listing when you hit the TVshows button/menu.
There's a few different work-arounds, maybe more on how creative you want to be and if having your total listings in the library is important (searches etc.) 3rd party add-ons will allow for access, but will not be in the current library.
1) Two folders, and separate sources using file mode both will be available independently, but will be one lib listing.
2) Create a smart playlist with a path rule or some offline designation, one or the first folder and the second the number two folder.
Link to favourites , create custom home page buttons/menus, hide main TV shows.
