I don't seem to remember it). I had raised this issue with Minix and was informed that Amlogic CTO said it is a limitation of the Java layers in Android. In reality, this difference is highly unlikely to cause any noticeable stutter.
The MINIX guys certainly know about this as they use the same AMLogic Frame Rate Automation Kernels (FRAK) as well. They even have the same sort of option to turn this on an off in Android as WeTek uses.
WeTeK has resorted to a different approach to enable automatic switching to 24p for DRM protected services like Netflix. Amlogic's method is to use FFmpeg to probe the AV stream, read the frame rate of the content and switch the output refresh rate. This doesn't work for DRM protected HD content because it is sent to a protected layer.
