I'm unable to figure out how to configure NextPVR to download my list of channels. The cable company is Comcast Digital for zip code 61550. The About portion of Settings tells me to configure the devices. But I don't know what to configur about them. I asked in both #kodi and #kodi-pvr on Freenode, but those channels are dead.

From what I can tell, NextPVR doesn't exactly have much tech support on their own.

My CableCard is currently installed in my TiVo rather than the Ceton InfiniTV 6 I have. I'm loath to move it until I understand the setup procedure as that will prevent the TiVo from recording. Eventually, I'll sell the TiVo, but in the meantime, it's my backup.

Well, I found http://nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?n=Co...etupDialog, but it doesn't match my usage. I don't see anything between the Device Identification group box and the channel list (which remains empty).

This forum is more for the Kodi Addon which will only work after the backend is sorted.

Since you don't seem to have gotten NVPR Properly configured, I highly suggest you goto the NVPR FORUMS

And pose your questions there. There are some extra configuration steps and addon support for the backend you must complete to get it running properly.

The NVPR forums are very helpful, and it's fully supported, so I am not sure what you mean in your first posting.

Sub is continually patrolling both here and there and often tackles the questions promptly and offers immediate support on the product.

Its easy to setup these devices. Just head to the Settings->Devices screen, double click one of the Ceton tuners shown, then click the 'Scan' button. Soon after you'll see the list of channels, and you can hit, ok to save them. (you can only access Copy-Freely channels, so probably want to untick the Copy-Once/Copy-Never protected channels)

At that stage, you're pretty much up and running, and can watch tv, schedule recordings etc, but you'll probably also want to setup the EPG (giving you a nice TV Guide etc).
