Android Tablet, miracast streaming through Kodi.

Apologies if this has been asked, I have had a look around and can't see it anywhere did some searching but still can't find it so here goes.

I have an android tablet running Android 4.4.2 kitkat. I have kodi, and I have a miracast /dlna dongle (anycast). http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221822540149?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Can connect to it fine can mirror the screen Ok but how can I actually stream anything because I am unable to connect to my home network on the tablet as the wifi is connected to the miracst dongle.

I am totally confused as I was told that kodi can be used as a dlna?

Any help at ALL will be appreciated. or any other suggestions for how to get this working or even to be told it can't be done Sad

Thanks

You do not need the dongle, disconnect from it. You can set up your android as a DLNA server with one of many DLNA/UPNP apps, connect to wifi, turn on UPNP setting in KODI, and you should be able to either add the DLNA as a source, and/or send the media via UPNP with your DLNA server app on your tablet.

This is not screen mirroring, btw, it is simply a way of streaming music or videos to KODI.

If you want to stream to your DLNA dongle, it should be connected to your home wifi, not separately to your tablet.

Sorry maybe I didn't make it clear.

the dongle is attached to the TV. kodi is on the tablet.

What I want to do is to stream from the internet to the TV.

Apologies for a poor original question

Connect the dongle to your home wifi network, and then your tablet to home wifi also. Enable UPNP on KODI. Then you can send media to a UPNP client with the 'play using' feature. See wiki.
