Req Original Air Date, Folder Thumbnails
#1
Hi Guys,

I haven't had a chance to install some of the test builds of either Jarvis or the ServerWMC backend that you are continuing development on, but I was wondering if either of the updates address theses feature requests:

Pass Original air Date information to Kodi
Thumbnails for Recorded TV Virtual Folders

I ask because I just got my HTPC working consistently and stable and I didn't want to rock the boat now that most things are working as they should.

Again thanks for your continued work on this awesome PVR!

Thanks,

Recorded tv folders are very virtual in that we can't do anything with them except provide a name. We can't set the thumbnail or provide any other metadata - even the recording count is a "hack" where we just append the count in the name of the folder (which leads to problems when the count changes whilst you are inside the folder!)

Unless I've missed anything I don't believe there have been any Kodi changes that allow us to do more with the recording structure

Thanks for the reply. Any thoughts on the original air date? Even if it was appended to the synopsis that would be awesome.

Hopefully collectively we can make enough noise to request these features. Everything else is so pretty with the scraped info, and then there is the plain old recorded TV section.

You need to create a feature request ticket for the kodi core team. We will support it if they add it to their api.

Thanks for the reply, is there a formal way to that? I would be happy to create a ticket, just never done it before.

Thanks for offering to support this

You do it here:

Folder thumbnails would be great, original air date would be nice too.

As a stop gap we could the air date to the description, or episode title.

appending it to the description would be awesome. I just created a couple of threads in the feature request forum. Perhaps having dinner devs weigh in there as well may help in getting some attention.

I will also create official tickets.

Thanks!

This tells me to log feature requests in the forum and not on their bug tracking system.

Cool, thanks. I was thinking of prepending the airdate to the description, optional of course.

That would be awesome! I agree, Pre pending seems to make more sense .

I just put up a new pre-release version of swmc (1219) that adds this feature if you want to try it out.

Thanks, this was a good suggestion I like having it in the description too. I am wondering if it would be better to append the original air date and include it with the 'Repeat' suffix. Like:

(Repeat, aired **/**/**)

You might have to rebuild your kodi database to see the changes for all guide data (but not for recordings).

I like this idea, but just happy that the date is available anywhere.

Me too, helps determine the show order when you miss the original showing and end up capturing a repeat. What would be awesome is if you could sort in Kodi by the original air date, but fur that I think we would need a change in the PVR API
