elupus, thanks for the inside the video is much much more smooth in the areas where mplayer was dropping heavyly which indicates that it's much faster at decoding. I hope you can figure out how to drop frames to keep it in sync.
The desync becomes worse at the end even when jumping through the movie with the d-pad or so it seams. I can do some more tests to night to get a clearer picture.
I'm using digital output and the divx/xvid's have dolby or dts. I have not tested with analog output but I could as that is what I use in my other rooms
The -0.3 adjustment is for mplayer and dvdplayer initially I think. This is hard to tell when it becomes more and more out of sync. I need to test more or you need to get your hands on a CHD xvid/divx clip
