Hello everyone,

I've just installed Mimic and all its dependencies (including the grab fanart script) and also enabled the fanart slideshow within the main menu. Yet this option just dims the default background, without showing any fanarts at all. Using Artist Slideshow and Artwork Downloader didn't help either.

Since the Artwork definitely exists somewhere ( osmc/.kodi/userdata/Thumbnails for example has quite a few), I suspect that either mimic doesn't invoke Grab Fanart or the latter searches in the wrong place.

I am using the latest OSMC, running Kodi 15.2 (Isengard) on a Raspberry Pi 2.

What can / should I do to see the Fanarts in the main menu? This was one of the main reasons to choose this skin, and since I like the other features aswell I don't really want to change to a different one.

EDIT: I tried Aeon Nox as a plan B, and there the fanarts appear as my background. So it seems that it either uses its own Fanart Grabber or for some reason Mimic couldn't start the Grabber. I've allready tried a reinstall, but still without any result Sad

I have the same problem. Have you had any luck fixing it?

Other skins that show fanart background work perfectly for me as well

Same here. Titan skin shows the slideshow of the currently playing artist, Mimic just shows the default random slideshow of my music folder. Any help would be appreciated. Still using Kodi 15 and Mimic 2.3.0

Without a debug log it's impossible to determine what the problem is. As far as I know, all of the backgrounds options are working fine.

Hi braz, thanks for the fast response.
Just had a bit of a deeper look into this and found that it is working fine with Music coming from a local SMB server with proper tagging. What does not work is when it is from an internet radio stream. I'm listening to Radio Paradise. The Artist Slideshow plugin does recognise this correctly and then finally still downloads the correct artwork (if available). The Titan and the Cirrus Extended Skins are displaying that artwork correctly, Mimic falls back to the configured fallback slideshow (in my case random music artwork).

BTW: I have not found a debug switch specific to Mimic... Thus I've just switched on the main Kodi and the Artist Slideshow debug options.
