Pulse Eight HDMI CEC Adapter Crashes Kodi
#1
So, I just received my HDMI CEC adapter, and whenever I plug the USB in it just crashes Kodi. Kodi works great without it, but I just can't get it to stop crashing when I plug it in (at boot, or unplug, run Kodi and then plug it in, both crash).

I enabled verbose libCEC logging and have attached the files. I also tried a couple of different libCEC versions/libraries, and haven't gotten anywhere. I perused the log files, but don't see any smoking guns....help?

unsupported build -> report to debian or install a version from our PPAs

Thanks. That's just what Ubuntu server installed when I did an apt-get. Will add the PPA.

Well, that did definitely fix it.

It now just doesn't recognize the CEC adapter Smile

I added myself to the dialout group. cec-client outputs good data. Other checks look good. But dmesg is showing it installing as a mouse? Is that normal, or something that needs to be fixed/forced somehow? Googling is turning up maybe one or two people whom had the same problem, but no way to fix it...
