Search eBay for RetroPie. You don't have to wait until retro player is released, people are already doing this now. The difference is that retro games, no matter how fun they are, are not as mainstream/popular as the latest episode of the Big Butt Theory or whatever you kids watch these days. There are not droves of websites and YouTube videos or eBay sellers, because the money isn't there. There are some, but it's not on the same level. They'll still get takedown requests if they include Kodi, but there's not that many of them. The pros outweigh the cons for the feature.
Anything can be abused, but that shouldn't be the reason it is included or not. There's a bigger picture that also needs to be considered.
