Bug TV Shows

Hi Guys,

Downloaded Kodi 16 - Jarvis a couple of days ago and TV shows are messed up to say the least.

The problem is where you watch one episode and then let the entire episode finish e.g credits as well, if you do not select a TV show for a while, the next time you play a TV show it plays with a black screen and audio. If you stop the video and then restart the video plays but it looks like a disco.

I am trying to watch star trek voyager which is 4:3 I have tried stretch non liner and also none stretch liner and both have the same problem.

Need more information, like the O/S and hardware skins etc.. all the good stuff in a proper debug-log posted to a public paste-bin and linked back to this thread. Of the cuff, sounds like an outdated gfx driver (screen shot maybe?) stretch non liner seems to have some issues on some platforms, might want to turn that off until this is fixed.

I shall sort this out in a few days as busy with other projects at the moment but no offense towards the team behind Kodi, but the Jarvis release has been the worse in XBMC/Kodi history for so called stable releases.

If I still had 15.2 or could download again I would go back to using that, I done beta testing for Jarvis but it was too unstable hence I am surprised by this release.

I have found out that if I reload the skin after playing an episode it seems to work fine for the next episode but obviously this is not an ideal situation.

The looks of this thread though every one seems to be having issues one way or another, over stretching in new markets such as Android and other systems where the quality for PC users has to suffer. It is like trying to pour a pint into a half pint glass it just does not work, the more you try to fill glasses the more spillage you are making.

The debug log tells a lot, the skin versions, o/s versions, hardware etc.. 15.2 is still assailable here By all means jump back if you feel it's the better way. Kodi has come around the corner with new directions in keeping with modern expectations. A lot of the older systems are falling down with DX11, ensure your o/s can handle it and along with that comes MS with windows10 then mix in 3rd party graphic drivers and you have a combination that is bound to have a few hiccups. The new panorama feature seems to work on some o/s systems and have issues with how graphic cards handle sizing on others. This is something that can wait for me 'I never liked it, and wouldn't use it'. Under playback using minimize black bars, you can get a subtle stretch percentage wise for just 4:3 aspect oldies.

Don't hold your breath but Star Trek voyager may be remastered widescreen.

Cheers for the link, I shall do a log file tomorrow before I reinstall. My computer should be ok however shall do more checking, I just played with the graphics now to see if there was anything that I could do. The only thing that I can think of is possible encoding problems with the episodes, I have tried some other TV shows and only tested for a couple of seconds but they loaded ok.

My set up is win 7 64 bit so pretty standard set up. but shall do more testing when the sun shines tomorrow, I just moved display on to the TV rather than dual screen but that hasn't done anything.

God I dread to think of watching voyager for a long time to come, probably already watched the entire series about 5 times now lol but it is something to come back to when I get sick and tired of watching movies, at least with TV shows you can see the characters develop over a period of time. I had spent the past month watching the entire hill street blues classic show that was.

It's the hardware that is the key to this upgrade, don;'t rush. Ha.. I'm into 'The Great British Bake Off', as a diabetic it's my kind of porn Smile But I can see where you're coming from. Of the current crop 11.22.63 looks good.
