You can already tell madVR to passthrough HDR automatically, it's a set-it-and-forget-it one-time configuration setting, and it can use either the Nvdia API or Windows10 Creators Update API.
I know 0 about the NVidia way madvr uses its script. I thought users still have to slide the hdr tab in windows to on so it requires this step. Maybe you do not need to do this anymore... so if you set api windwos 10 like I do with amd my screen goes really dim. do you have to do this too? or does your system switch modes auto
This is the code
NV_HDR_COLOR_DATA hdrColorData = {};
memset(&hdrColorData, 0, sizeof(hdrColorData));
hdrColorData.version = NV_HDR_COLOR_DATA_VER;
hdrColorData.cmd = NV_HDR_CMD_SET;
hdrColorData.static_metadata_descriptor_id = NV_STATIC_METADATA_TYPE_1;
hdrColorData.hdrMode = enableHDR ? NV_HDR_MODE_UHDA : NV_HDR_MODE_OFF;
hdrColorData.static_metadata_descriptor_id = NV_STATIC_METADATA_TYPE_1;
NvAPI_Disp_HdrColorControl( displayId, &hdrColorData);
so I guess you guys have auto done this so you can select a video file in kodi and it will turn hdr on?
If so I wont waste my time creating this addon
