This has started since I installed an nvidia gfx card (previously was just AMD APU).

Whenever I switch between the UI and a video, my screen goes black, says "detect source", then comes back - but neither the refresh rate nor the resolution have changed.

I have 'vertical blank sync' and 'sync playback to display' enabled but not 'adjust display refresh rate'.

I don't get why this has just started happening. I'm new to nvidia cards but unless im missing something, there's nothing in it's control panel to stop this happening.

Any ideas? Driving me nuts!

Heh, sorted.

nvida cp > adjust desktop colour settings (!) > content type reported to the display

this was set to automatic, changed it to 'full screen video' and it's fixed
