This is where LibreELEC (a media center focused client) diverges from the more mainstream/general purpose distributions. If you want your RPi3 to be an access point as well as a media center client then LibreELEC is not your best option.
I like LibreELEC for the ro system data integrity, I just want to be able to connect the eth to the wifi.
