I was able to copy #801.tar to .update then rebooted OK to #801 and gave warning message that #802 was NOT installed. Seems to be working fine in #801
On the second try, I was also able to recover. I was forcing the reboot by pulling power. I think you have to yank out the power cord at the right spot in the loop.
After the copy to .update I could SSH (Putty) and issue a reboot command, so no need to pull power.
