Try to force the EDID information as shown in the wiki and see if this works for you. The kernel folks are still working on proper i2c support for HDMI Audio, which is not yet existent on BSW.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
