Cache Buffer Limit?
#1
I have an Unraid NAS and I'm looking to increase the RAM in all my Kodi boxes to avoid buffering... ever. Most of the time I have no issues, but during parity checks on the server and heavy file transfers can get sluggish. That said, is there a limit to the cache buffer in Kodi/OpenELEC? I have 2 Chromeboxes and I'm looking to upgrade the RAM to 8GB in each device and then dedicate gigabytes to the cache buffer...

Any issues with this?

This question would be best handled in the OpenELEC forum.

FTW: (20971520 is the default, which is 20MB, which requires 60MB of free RAM). Kodi will not buffer ahead more than this.

HOW-TO:Modify the video cache (wiki)

Note: Even if you change the cache settings in Kodi, that won't change how fast the video file data comes in over the network. For example, it won't make a slow server load the video any faster.
