I have this in my advancedsettings and it makes no difference:

We use ffmpeg in v17 and seems they can't load that extension. There is a proof of concept where so called binary addons could extend current image support by loading libraries that could load those files.
In v16 there was some support but only for old CR2 formats.

ok, in my eyes it would make sense to natively support dng in Kodi. Give the format the credit it deserves. Just a suggestion.
