OS X OS Sierra - crashing at start
#16
I recently installed Kodi again and deleted my Kodi folder. And as I tried opening Kodi it didn't create any folder except the 'userdata' folder with a file called 'sources.xml'.
or is there any other way?

No that means its crashing even before it can create the log file...

One of your sqlite databases is corrupt and that is why Kodi crashes. Post debug log (wiki) if you can which might show which one it is...

As i can't start kodi I followed the 1.2.1 advancedsetting.xml process...tho I'm unable to obtain info that looks like the "<advancedsetting.xtm for normal debugging" data. I just get a number. Here is my advancedsettings.xml number and certain it's not the .xml.txt or other as noted in kodi.wiki

0 157286400 3.0

Sorry if this is incorrect, maybe you tell me the wiki number to follow (i.e. 1.2.1) if I'm providing the wrong thing...appreciate your assistants and patience/

No clue what you are talking about here tbh. Open the Console app from Programs -> Utilities and goto ~/Library/Logs - kodi.log should be there. Please paste it to pastebin.com and post the link to it here.

Thanks so much for your continued help Mimphiz...I had two Kodi log's. I pasted the old log second separating them by "THIS IS FROM KODI.OLDLOG" in the same link

I had the same problem too, and I realise it was linked to some settings in Mac OS.
The 'Security & privacy' settings didn't show anymore to allow app from 'Anywhere'. Only 2 options where left: 'App Store' and 'App Store and identified developer'.
Given that KODI is not an 'identified developer', I couldn't open it.
To solve for it, one has to re enable to allow app from 'Anywhere' .
Here is a good link that explains the steps: http://osxdaily.com/2016/09/27/allow-app...atekeeper/

To summarize the steps, go to the terminal and write:
sudo spctl --master-disable

It should restore the ability to allow the apps from anywhere. Then you should be able to open KODI.
It works for me anyway.

The log is wrong and doesn't belong to kodi at all
