I have done NES, SNES, Sega Megadrive, PS1 and Commodore Amiga with no issues at all. But then a Raspberry Pi Zero did all of those too.

HTPCs: 2 x Chromecast with Google TV
Audio: Pioneer VSX-819HK & S-HS 100 5.1 Speakers
Server: HP Compaq Pro 6300, 4GB RAM, 8.75TB, Bodhi Linux 5.x, NFS, MySQL

Thats great but the roms run off a usb drive ir i can install them on the pi itself via internet. or ssh
