I just tried to upgrade my Intel Cherry Trail box to the latest nightly (haven't done so since August) and noticed that I have no audio anymore over HDMI (the box is connected to an AVR which is connected to the TV). I tried serveral combinations in the audio settings without success. I also tried going back a couple of builds to figure out when this issue first occured. I narrowed it down to sometime between late August and the beginning of September. Did I miss something? Is HDMI audio on Cherry Trail no longer supported?

This was something that I reported after #0903 when the kernel was updated to 4.13.0 in #0904.

It seems that we will just have to wait for the newer kernels to support the hardware again.

I had noticed that Linuxium had a Linux distro with the same kernel purporting to support the audio in these boxes but on testing it there was no audio, which to me indicates that it is kernel related.

Just found this ticket on archlinux: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/55592
