Thank you again for all your suggestions, so I spent the morning trying different builds, each time starting with a clean install and upgrading to your builds so that at least I could have a clean slate to work from. So, build #0615 has video but no audio at all, build #0616 up to the latest #0816 has audio but the constant clicking in the GUI and the dropped audio in video playback is there. So I tried different HDMI cables, same issue. Tired a different TV & Amp setup, same issue, then I just disabled the audio pass-through setting and the audio is fine, except obviously no DTS, DD etc. etc.
As I said before, everything works fine in Windows with Kodi DSPlayer & MadVR, so I'll go back to that for awhile, hopefully a later build will rectify this issue or if someone else comes across a similar issue and has a solution then I'll keep an eye on the forum.
