So the video quality issues start with #0208? Or do they start with #0209? Although it's not obvious what would cause them in either build.
It's also not immediately obvious why the crashes would start with #0523, but I'll have a think.

Adding
log_buf_len=16M to your kernel command line will stop the kernel log messages from being lost.
