quick update -
I have disabled the SMBv2 & SMBv3 support on my windows server (via - "Set-SmbServerConfiguration -EnableSMB2Protocol $false" powershell command).
This did not make any difference.
I have also tried looking at an NTFS folder having more than 100 files and it worked fine.
All evidence points at this time to ReFS as the culprit.
A quick google search also shows that in recent SAMBA/CIFS Linux kernels there is more changes related to ReFS and SMBv3 so I am hoping these latest kernels will find themselves in KODI/LibreELEC soon.
