Cannot create connection

I'm trying to configure an Openelec Pi as a client to a Win7 machine running WMC. I've installed Server WMC on the win7 Machine and can access it's files via File Manager on the Pi and other Kodi files so I looks like I've got a network connection and can access the shared files. Can play TV from a network tuner via a Video plug in. What I can't do is get Live TV to work or even appear as a tab. I've tried to check all the network paths as the server has files on a partitioned drive. I've rebooted, enable and disabled several times and made sure ServerWMC is running. Nothing.

Hope this log file helps point out the problem. (My version of Kodi doesn't show the Kodi Logfile Uploader Program I find in the PC Jarvis version)

Have you entered the login credentials (see serverwmc Folders tab)? If you have, then post the serverwmc log (debug tab) after you try to start a live stream. Put it on pastebin.com and put a link here.

This is becoming a real learning experience. New to Linux, Pi and Kodi

I believe I've established a user account for "kodi" in Windows 7 with a password and entered these into the ServerWMC folders section. Tried to make sure the folders called for were correct as the WMC files are stored on the server's hard drive partition E;

I've provided the log contents from ServerWMC below but don't know if I've given you what you're requesting; "Start a live stream". How do I send a request to the ServerWMC when the only client I think I have is Kodi on the Pi? From within WMC itself with selecting "Live TV" send a request to ServerWMC ?

You need to leave serverwmc running on the machine that has wmc installed. Serverwmc will handle the pvr requests from kodi running on your pi. So I meant for you to start the live stream on your pi, by watching one of the channels it shows. You can also just try to watch one of your recorded tv programs.

As for the login, it needs to be the login of the account serverwmc is run under on your windows 7 machine.

Therein lies the problem. I've tried to configure Kodi on the Pi to have live TV via Server WMC, I have been unsuccessful. I've enabled the PVR add-in, reviewed it's configuration, disabled and enabled both the live tv options in settings and the add-in in different sequences and rebooted. No cigar!

Here's a Kodi logfile from yesterday when I was trying some of the things above.

Yeah, according to your kodi log pvr.wmc is not able to open a socket connection to the machine running serverwmc, that machine's ip is 192.168.1.10 - I assume you have checked to make sure that ip is correct. By default swmc uses port 9080, could you be using other software that is using this port?

Reviewed the server ip and that's correct. In task manager ServerWMC shows it running in Application tab, and ServerWMC.exe shows in the Process tab. But if I go to the next level of resource manager, I don't see a listing for ServerWMC or any software for any of the various types of ports covered using the 9080 port. Looks like something isn't opened/started, but don't know what.

If I limit activity ( at least during debug) to my home network, do I have to change anything in a Windows or Router firewall to allow port 9080?

The serverwmc window is/has been open.

So then the serverwmc window is open...

When you first ran serverwmc after installing it, windows should have asked you if it was okay to let it communicate through the firewall. If you said 'no', then maybe that is your problem. Simple way to find out is temporarily turn off the windows firewall and see if you can connect.

Some progress. Kept poking at settings and found that my network was set to Public. Changed to Home and now port 9080 is appearing in the resource monitor and the serverwmc general tab seems to show a connection to the Pi.. Time to move back there and see what is available

Kodi now can access the server and seems to be working as intended. Live TV and Guide are now appearing. Now need to close this and see how to improve video quality of Live TV. Have added MPEG-2 codec but HD is pixelated and audio is out of sync.
