If that is what is understood from my post then I am truly sorry to have offended you and whoever else read my post that way. It is so far from my meaning with the post.

In fact I did not read it that way. But yeah communication issues over the internet happen quite often. No one died - all still here (including no ppa) - so all fine :-)
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

To clarify myself, I didn't stop donating to Kodi because the Ubuntu ppa was late or something like that, it was because exactly this type of shitheads:

@laric @Pyromaniac Fuck you guys. You ARE ungrateful.
...

Ask one wrong questing like "why is xxxx not working", and the answer was often enough "fuck you; lear coding/compiling you idiot; diy shithead" and so on...as if ONE of you software-developer is able to repair his car by himself. If the headlight is off, you are the first ones who cry for help.

One last thing: I AM grateful for Kodi, its awesome, but I won't donate to people/devs like "Koying" and some others...I've donated SEVERAL 100€, as a THANK YOU, not more, not less. But as I got to know some of the KODI-Guys, they will interpret even something evil in donating or just everything and shit on you/me again...

Confused Did someone stay up on the wrong foot today?, I cant beleve what im reading here today.
People ARE really gratefull for kodi and there is no doubt about that, end of discussion.

My reccomendations is to make 100% step by step howto build it from source your self, becouse it is not that big deal to do.
And then put it in the Important Threads under linux and live support.
So if someone can't wait for the ppa, they can be guided to this step by step solutions.

Best wishes, and TY for KODI

Linux is threatened shabby by the kodi team...

Totally unnecessary statements here, if you want to get the new version faster, help with the development. If you can't help, because you don't know how to (e.g. can't code), you should be even more thankful to the devs... And the money you gave is a DONATION, what are you expecting? Confused

17.0 Final was pushed today to the stable team-kodi ppa. Thanks for everybody involved, since 16.1 worked flawlessly for a long time now, i didn't mind waiting only 10 more days for FREE, OPEN-SOURCE software.

Thanks to all the developers for this beautiful piece of software!

If you're using the PVR add-ins, I'd wait a bit. Looks like Kodi main stuff has been compiled, but the PVR add-ons haven't yet (at least at the time of this post). So you all might be advised to wait ... a little bit ... longer before jumping to immediately apt upgrade.

Thanks, Kodi Devs!!

EDIT: They're up now. YAY!

The following packages have been kept back:
gnome-software gnome-software-common kodi kodi-bin snapd ubuntu-core-launcher ubuntu-software
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 7 not upgraded.

Should I do a dist-upgrade? (never needed to do that before)

EDIT: apt-get update kodi kodi-bin seems to have done the trick. Weird it was kept back though.

should be all there now. Wanted to build all pvr addons fresh, but it went into the unstable ppa instead. I blame it on the jet lag Smile
