Hi I am having the same problem. I download the Kodi from Kodi tv and when it is suppose to run it buffers a few seconds and nothing happens? wont load at all? I have installed and uninstalled it numerous times to see it it was the way I downloaded but no change.
Having read this thread I tried to do what Rechi said and do a debug log? I have no idea how to but when I click on the link above it I was then led to page to get instructions on how to get a debug file but the first instruction is to open kodi and go to programmesHuh We can get inside of Kodi?

Help I have been trying to find a solution since last night! Sad Sad Sad

Thanks in advance

Thanks Moanbag! Smile

Although it is like interpreting a foreign language I am trying to follow the instuctions. On the first one ( to manually enable debugging) I had to go to the userdata folder of Kodi and find the advancedsetting.xml file and there is not one in mine? All I have is an IOS folder and an RSS feeds document? Is that the one it means? Shall I post it here.....I'm lost guys please help a lady out. x

Hello, I'm having the same problem... upgraded to newest version, but after the installation it just won't open.
It's not possible to create a debug log, because I can't open Kodi... it's the same case as the others users are suffering.

Please help... thansk

You can create and gather the log without Kodi being openable. Click the link in the post above yours for details.

Is this the information I am suppose to have? As I said when I open the user data file I only have the RSS file and this is what it contains? It doent look like it? Where else would I get the info if not? Or why don't I have it?

Sorry for all the questions folks......thanks a million Smile

Has anyone actually gotten help with the new update issue? I have the same problem and can not get Kodi to run at all on windows 10. All I see are "run a bug log" and link to how to. The instructions on how to run the log are not very clear and I can't figure it out. Can someone help?

I don't think so dylanangel Sad I have tho found out how to find your userdata now lol

Put into the start bar %APPDATA%\kodi\userdata - press <Enter> Smile

Still trying to figure out what info I need now as there is lots and the debugging info is not looking the same as it is on the initial link at the start of the thread? Hopefully you get somewhere Smile

Rechi is this the information I need? Is this my Debug Log? This is totally new to me and would love to know what I can do to fix the problem?

Hi. I tried to upgrade from Jarvis to Krypton 17.1 on a Windows 7 Professional laptop. Didn't work. So I uninstalled Kodi (everything) and tried reinstalling from scratch. Still doesn't work. Have tried it several times and still have the same results.

The problem I'm having seems to be the same as other posters. I double click to start, the Windows hourglass appears for a couple of seconds, and then, nothing. Krypton 17.1 won't fire up.

Looked through the posts and I believe (?) I've done this right. The following is a link to the Kodi.log file:

create a file called advancedsettings.xml at %AppData%\Kodi\userdata with the following content and then start kodi again.
Code:
<advancedsettings>
    <loglevel>2</loglevel> <!-- Change this to "1" to hide the on-screen debug log text -->
</advancedsettings>

After that post the content of %AppData%\Kodi\userdata\kodi.log to https://pastebin.com/ and the link back here.
