I have a addon that is no longer under development but it works for my needs, it won't let me remove the repo without removing the addon, is it safe to just delete the repository.addon folder in.kodi\addons?

Why do you need to delete the repo?

Coz the repo is offline, like to keep my installs as clean as possible. Anyways removing the dependency on the repo in the addon allowed me to remove the repo without removing the addon.

If the addon had a dependency on the repo, that suggests to me the addon has other dependencies from the same repo that need to be updated from time to time or the addon won't work. So I wouldn't have much hope for the long-term viability of the addon.

Interesting. I guess the author really wanted you to use his repo, or maybe it was just the idea of reducing support requests by forcing updates.
