First, off this is my first time trying to use XBMC for linux(Ubuntu 7.1) and I downloaded the Alpha package, but everytime I try to run the XboxMediaCenter icon i just get a black window for a second and then its goes away. Is there any other files you have to edit after you install to make sure it works. Sorry this if this is such a dumb question but just a total noob to XBMC on Ubuntu. Thanks in advance....

In the log file its says unable to load keyboardmap.xml: Failed
Would this be the cause?

Use pastebin.com and paste the entire log and put the link here so it can be looked at. The keyboard one I see all the time so I do not think that is it.

May as well post the output of "lspci" and "LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose glxinfo" too so we can tell you your video card isn't supported
