Got the new Amazon Fire TV today and tried sideloading Kodi. After clicking the download link (64bit or 32bit), I get the a message saying "An unknown error has occurred. Check your URL and connection". I turned on Apps from unknown sources in the settings. Downloaded the Downloader app. I even tried it with ES file explorer and got the same result. Anyone else having this issue?

Install Total Commander and use that, it should work fine.

The way I do it is to download the Kodi apk onto a USB drive, insert the USB Drive into the Fire TV, Open Total Commander then navigate to the apk file and then just click it to install.
There are probably different methods but this works for me.

****COMPLETE FIX****
Found out the reason it will not download from the Downloader App is because when I first installed and opened Downloader I clicked on “deny” access to files instead of “allow”
just uninstall Downloader and re-install making sure to click on “allow” at first setup.

Never had that issue. Did you download 32bit or 64bit version. Take it that it worked on your older Fire Tv if you had one?

Does it mean that the issue is with your actual tv ?? Surely that couldn’t be the issue ?
