[solved] can't install add-ons. Help needed
#1
Hi, I can't install any .zip add-ons.

This is what the log says: error getting zip://C%3a%5cUsers%5cc3000%5cDownloads%5cplugin.xxx.zip/

It happens with every zip I tried.

Weird. Anyone knows what's up?

Can you verify the integrity of the file with an external archiver.

DEBUG: ZipManager: unable to open file C:\Users\c3000\Downloads\plugin.video.osmosis-future.zip!

thanks, but like I said - this is just an example. It doesn't work for ANY zip.

If you've verified the .zip integrity, it's likely that Kodi and the built in archiver has been compromised in some fashion, (prob in the temp file location?) and would require a re-installation.

I have re-installed it a few times. I simply can't get rid of the problem Sad

Did you delete the contents in the 'roaming' Kodi directory for a fresh start? That's where user files and some libraries reside.

delete C:\Users\your_computer_name_goes here\AppData\Roaming/Kodi

" I have re-installed it a few times. I simply can't get rid of the problem " Quite unusual, given multiple re-installs, unless the executable archive is at fault. I'd suggest you change tatics and install Leia (the progression has been very good, and the latest versions are working well with many machines), if that has issues in the same area, then it's likely the root is the o/s and at that point, Kodi is most likely not the direct culpirt.

With Leia it's the same

I don't believe it can be with any zip.

Install one from our repo and show the log when doing so.
