Help! New to Kodi and stumped.  I have a KDLinks A400 attached to a WD My Book 16T. When I'm in Kodi and select a film to watch by clicking on the photo or by hitting "play", the Kodi screen flashes but doesn't go anywhere. Sometimes when this happens, the Kodi screen reverts out of Kodi and back into the startup menu of KDLinks. The films and files play fine in the KD Links File App, but nothing will play inside Kodi. Any ideas what I'm doing or not doing? I'll have to learn how to attach log files unless someone has an easy answer. Thanks

Yes, we will need the Debug log (wiki) to assist with this problem. It is important you capture the problem in the log while it is recording, otherwise it is useless.

The instructions are in my signature. Use the Basic method. Once you have enabled debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging, restart Kodi then replicate the problem. In your case, try to play the movie. Once done upload to https://pastebin.com/ or https://paste.ubuntu.com/ and link back here. Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs

I have the same issue. I messed around one day and got it working but don't remember what I did. But after muti box resets got the problem again. I can use the pull down menu select play using select DVD player and plays fine. I would like to just make DVD player the play default instead of the Kodi default wrapper.
