Kodi repeatedly crashes&restarts after playing ~2secs of music
#1
Hi community,
I (my family, esp. the kids Wink ) am a happy user since 1,5 years - playing only music files feeding the line-in of an old cassette deck, thus keeping it useful ;-).
Recently, we got the problem mentioned above; unfortunately I‘m not shure, if it was after a specific event (update, change of other network devices, ...). I allready changed the network from Wireless to LAN (read about quirks with the WiFi on RPi), but without success.
Logfile: http://ix.io/VTk

Thanks for any hints in advance,
Hardy

Here with debug logging turned on:

I have the impression, that it does not reboot fully, since the UI is accessible faster than using the "reboot" under the power icon.

Appreciating any feedback/ideas...

Seems like UPnP is having lots of hiccups. Perhaps you can try a different file protocol like SMB. I have no idea where you have your music files stored. Personally I'm not a big fan of UPnP. I also see stuff stored on USB...

BTW, LibreELEC 8.2.4 is out although it only has 1 or 2 tiny changes.

Also, there may be more information in the crash log - run "cat /storage/.kodi/temp/kodi_crash.log | pastebinit" and post the link as that may give a clue what is actually causing the crash.

Thank you very much both of you!
My music is stored on attached USB; my goal is to use also my DLNA server in the network, but that´s for later; I allready had deleted all other sources in order to check if it is related with that. Turning off UPnP/DLNA under settigs -> services also did not help. I also checked if it is hardware related, and switched between Analog and HDMI output (no success).

Even if I allready looked for myself into the crash log, I digged into it again and realised, that a visualisation might be the problem http://ix.io/XM3. I saw that in before, and tried to delete all related Addons, but it had no effect. This time, I found the option "Visualisation" under Settings -> Player settings -> Music. And deleting "WavforHue" did the trick.

So how does this visualisation thing work....? Not a major thing for me, but just interested.

It's crashing inside wavforhue visualisation rather than kodi. Best to report it on wavforhue thread
