Kodi not finding source USB drive
#1
Hi All
I'm very new to this, so having a problem understanding why I have a problem.
I have a MECOOL M8s Pro + Android box running LibreELEC and Kodi Krypton.
When I add a HDD via USB Kodi recognises the drive and the folders on the drive.
Then following the instructions in the Wiki I try to populate my movie and tv shows folders.
When I browse for the HDD it doesn't show up in the browse window. So I can't add my files to Kodi.
I have tried two different HDDs. Have I missed something somewhere ?

Look under video > files from the to level menu - do you see it there?

If so then you can scrape stuff from it into the library via the context menu for the folder you want to scrape (set content menu item).

Thread moved to Android as you've posted it under Linux for some reason.

I had this same problem on a Sony TV, and yes, using the context menu (right-click mouse, or long press OK) on my external USB drive's /Movies folder allowed me to set its content type and thus have Kodi add the files to the library and scrape them.

OK solved the problem.
File manager -- Add source -- Root -- /storage -- /media -- it now lists your USB HDD.
Add folders normally from here.
