Kodi 20180428 x64 scraper showing erroneous multiple entries for UHD BDMV
#1
On the latest nightly build from 20180428, the scraper is erroneously picking up individual streams from my UHD BDMV folder and trying to display them as individual movies. In other words, the movie Maze Runner shows up as >20 different streams that are mislabeled see log below.

https://pastebin.com/tDZV8ZQG

as a side note, I also use a scraper called NMJtoolbox for my popcorn hour player and that has no problems identifying the same BDMV folder as one movie.

I wanted to attach screenshots but didn't know how...can tell me how it's done? thanks

Hello @Alaa16

Your log does not show you scraping the movie. Nor do you have Debug Mode enabled, which is required to fault find.

Firstly, remove the movie from the library and run a Clean Library. Then enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging, restart Kodi then replicate the problem by scraping the movie again. Once done upload to https://pastebin.com/ or https://paste.ubuntu.com/ and link back here. Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs

On closer examination, I found that the BDMV folders that caused this problem do not have an index.bdmv file. Could that be the problem? Does the scrapper not just look at the folder name?
I will do as instructed above and repost the log again.

If you are using DVD or Bluray folders, yes it does just look for the folder name to match the movie. But because the index.bdmv is missing, it is no longer recognised as Bluray folders, so is now searching for movie files.

But it also needs to find the playable file, so when you press Play on your remote, the movie will start playing. I have never looked into what happens when it cant find Index.bdmv, but I think I just found out. Wink

If you go into smb://10.0.1.55/UHD Movies/Movies/Maze Runner The Death Cure (2018)/BDMV/BACKUP/ can you check if there is a backup index.bdmv file there. It doesn't look like there is, but just check.

If not, then go back to the \BDMV\ folder and makemake a copy of the MovieObject.bdmv file in the same folder and rename it to index.bdmv

Once Kodi finds the index.bdmv file, it should stop scanning the rest of the folder structure. Then just test the movie plays. It should.

No, there is no index.bdmv file in the Backup folder.
I renamed the file and cleaned the database and then updated it but the result is the same. It keeps adding multiple copies of a file called : Stream (2013)

hang on, I now removed the movie from the folder , cleaned the database and then Updated and the problem is solved. The movie was added correctly.
However, it won't play...
So we're half way there.

Strange. How did you rip these disks? What happened to the index.bdmv file?

The solution now is to change format from bluray folders to mkv file... https://mkvtoolnix.download/downloads.html

I should also mention that when you are converting Bluray folders using that software, you drop in the Playlist file located in \BDMV\Playlist\ (normally 00000.mpls)

This will ensure chapters and streams are preserved.
