I tried chrome remote desktop and teamview to access kodi on windows 7 laptop (host) from chromebook. App show on win 7 laptop but chromebook app is all black (blank). Feels like kodi issue but hoping for solution. Anyone?

Kodi is going to try to be hardwired into your graphic engine, it's not likely that the effort could be transposed from a chromebook app. You might give the display switch a shot, win+p on the keyboard and see if your set-up has any gfx power.
