I know 3rd party addons are not supported here, but if I install a fresh copy of Kodi v18-Beta or the latest nightly, and then install any currently working 3rd party addon, the search feature will not work in 3rd party addons. All I have tested work fine in Kodi v17.6.
Also, same with clean install of Kodi v18-Beta, if you install the log viewer addon from the kodi repo, and change the setting to show last, first, it only shows blank
Testing on android TV box that uses Android TV OS, as well as android TV box with normal OS.
Update: I just installed v18-Beta on a Win 7 machine and have same issues with searching in 3 party addons, the log viewer addon is working correctly, but I have to turn off my my Kinivo BTD-400 bluetooth radio dongle to start kodi, if not it just continues to scroll.
Maybe this will help the Beta version developer folks
