Solved SAT>IP TV in Kodi on a FireTV 4k
#1
Hi!
I am using the latest Fire TV 4k and installed Kodi 17.6 on it. Amazon Prime, Netflix and so on works fine.
But there are big trouble using Live TV in Kodi. I am receiving Live TV via SAT>IP stream.
There is a Digibit receiver at at attic which collects the SAT signal and serve it via network.
In Kodi I'm using the plugin PVR IPTV Simple Client for receiving the signal.

But the stream stutters very often. At some times it is not possible to watch TV.
I have done a comparsion with the same kodi version on my smartphone. There were no problems. Therefore I think the network and SAT>IP stream is correct and the problem is with Kodi on the FireTv.

Has anybody an advice what to do?

Best regards
Daniel

I have the same setup, but use tvheadend between the digibit and Kodi. It works perfectly.

If you go on the Nvidia forums there is an APK to run tvheadend on the shield (if you want). Gives you the ability to record too.

Thank you for your reply.
That means you run a separate tvheadend server and use tvheadend plugin in kodi to stream from that server?

Yes, gives much more flexibility too with timeshift, series link recording, channel icons etc.
