Hi Dave!

I use Kodi 17.6 on OSMC but I'm briefly testing Leia on my Windows notebook: great job about the sort order!
Now I can see in the list [First Name] [Last Name] ordered by Last Name, and it's much better.
Anyway I would greatly prefer the form [Last Name], [First Name] as it is usually exactly written in the MusicBrainz tag.
Which is the project for the final release? The first way or the second?

In v18 not only can user choose for artists to be sorted by sort name e.g. [Last name][first name] (assuming that they provide that artist info either via music file tags or NFO files), but that sort name can be displayed too. Showing it is down to the skin using the info label Listitem.Property(Artist_Sortname) during browsing, or MusicPlayer.Property(Artist_Sortname) for the playing item.

Other new info lables exits for artist type, gender and disambiguation text (to help identify artists with same name). Ask your favorite skinner about using them, or maybe have a go at making your own skin modification
