Can you please explain why post 8 isn't a debug log?

Edit: aha because it is already removed. Will provide one again.

I don't like the tone of this thread anymore... I am only trying to help...
And by all means: I do appreciate all the hard work you developers put into this program!

I did provide a debug log in post 8. I usually set it to be removed after one month. Wich happened in the mean time.

To be clear: This is about Kodi displaying on the top left corner after a display went off and back on again.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SRHnaSP...sp=sharing
My display (TV) is connected to my HTPC (NUC) with a HDMI cable.

Here is a new Debug Log:
https://paste.kodi.tv/bupemenoga.kodi
https://pastebin.com/t29VpSET   (I set it on 6 months expire)
If something is wrong or incomplete, please let me know. I will adjust it.

Since I'm only one user, can I kindly ask to anyone who has this problem to provide a fresh and full debug log in this thread. It is five minutes of work, but it is necessary for the devs to see where the problem is at.

I'll thank you all in advance and looking forward to see this problem solved before actual release.

Peace and love people, peace and love, with a big smile(y) :-)

this is not a Debug Log. please follow the link https://kodi.wiki/index.php?title=Log_file and read how to enable debug logging.

Oh darn, I saw the Kodi.log file appear in my user folder and tought debug logging was allready on. I forgot to turn the debug logging on in Kodi...
Sorry for that. (BTW: didn't know Kodi was logging anything when debug logging is disabled)

So here is a new try:
https://pastebin.com/9KCg7SgV
https://paste.kodi.tv/emawekafah.kodi

This should be good (warn me if it isn't)

What I did: Turned my TV on. Turned NUC/Kodi on. Kodi is at full screen. Played a file ('t Hof Van Commerce - Kom mor ip). Turned my TV off. Waited two minutes. Turned my TV back on. Kodi is in the upper left corner.

much better, but you have to enable component specific logging and specify Windowing component.

Even worse, it seems you see problem reports as personal attacks.
Once we should manipulate the hardware for TV or PC, another time we should change the registry of Windows.
I tried the pin 19 trick, an felt not well, to have electric tape in a 1400 € tv. Maybe, i have done it wrong, but it does not work.
All this, even though Kodi 17.6 works out of the box.
Unfortunately, not all plugins work in 17.6, e.g. Netflix, so i have to switch always between 17.6 and 18.

What exactly in the changelog we should consider?
Please tell us (if you know) in simple terms, what makes 18 different than 17.6 about hdmi?

I can say only one thing: OS resize the Kodi's window.. twice.. firstly for `Dummy Monitor` and second one for `Generic PnP Monitor`when detects it. Kodi just follows window size changes.
I'll try to add a fix to handle this case.
