Arctic: Zephyr - Reloaded

home -> Netflix Fanart Window
furniture -> Show media flags

Where even these are not uniform (enable/visible). Even these differences bother me Big Grin But on both, when disabled, you can't change anything, cause options are hidden/disabled.

So if you change that, you would have to do that for all options in the skin and imho that would make the skin settings even more messy  Huh

I saw it by the cpu usage. It spikes a bit.

I wish it will be fixed because I really like this skin. How can I help?

In this file: https://github.com/beatmasterRS/skin.arc...deoNav.xml I found a lot of ReloadSkin functions. Maybe this is it?

It would be necessary to know how to reproduce this exactly, step by step. And information is important, e.g. what exactly are the differences?
Ok, so... Please follow this steps:

1. set home menu style to "Vertical Multi-widgets Netflix" : https://imgur.com/iFOwTCC
2. go to customize main menu and go to widgets : https://imgur.com/5tnngiG
3. choose TMDb helper and set "Trending Today movies" as a widget : https://imgur.com/kXGtstr
4. check on home menu is widget there : https://imgur.com/MdNh8LZ
5. go to youtube for example and watch some movie (even few seconds)
6. go back to home menu and .... widgets will refreshing : https://imgur.com/qEyCQuA

In my opinion widgets should works like in Arctic Horizon where they are refreshing only once when Reloading skin and after that it should stay the same until next reload. In this case CPU Usage should be lower without any spikes. Smile

Thank you Smile

For me there is no difference between AH and AZ: R with the "trending today" widget, except the round loading icon right next to the widget title.

Another test: Please set "Default widgets" - "movies" - "random movies" as a widget in AH. Play a Movie, go back to homemenu, focus the menubar. Then stop the movie. For me, the widget reloads. The behaviour in AZ: R is also the same.

So i can't see any difference  Huh

Hmm.. Maybe random movies should works like that. However "Trending Today" should not refresh that often since it shows only one set of movies each day.
My point is that, widgets should not reload because it affects cpu usage and it spikes a lot. Meanwhile I see a lot of choppiness in animations (i'm using tv box so cpu is not that fast).

I agree with you Smile I can see a difference in script-skinshortcuts-includes.xml files: &reload=$INFO[Window(Home).Property(widgetreload-movies)] but currently, i have no idea, what this causes... I will have a closer look...

Widgets always need to reload after playing is stopped, in order to keep them up to date. Both skins work in the same way, as do all skins AFAIK. You can't specify that only certain widgets should reload, it would be virtually impossible to code. Honestly if your system can't handle a few widgets updating then you either need to use less widgets or improve your hardware, I see no lag when widgets are updating.

That's kinda true. But I'm sure I don't see that behavior in AH skin. Widgets just stay the same and in that case I don't see any choppiness in animations. Maybe @beatmasterrs will find a good solution for this. He is doing good job so far Tongue

I've tested with other skins. The behaviour is nearly the same in skins, that are using skinshortcuts, except AZ 2 and AH... So as i have thought before, it is due to the way it is implemented. If it is due to &reload=$INFO[Window(Home).Property(widgetreload-movies)] at all. but that is at least a difference, i have found.

Unfortunately I can currently do nothing more, cause my coding skills are limited...

Perhaps I make a mistake but I distinguish completely [custom home menu] who is a part of [settings list] and [settings list]

[custom home menu]  : customise main menu
[settings list] : customise what are displayed or not

1 - choose [home menu style] layout displays all [settings list] associate with this layout. ok
2 - in the same way [custom home menu] should display all settings associate with [home menu style] layout included [select icon] if it is possible with this layout.

(2021-04-27, 11:15)beatmasterrs Wrote: example:

home -> Netflix Fanart Window
furniture -> Show media flags

enable / disable a setting displays or not in some case a sub-setting.  ok
Those "settings slave" are displayed or hidden immedialy under the "setting-master".
it's logical / intuitive. I m completely agree with that.

But enable / disable a setting in [settings list] that enable / disable a setting in [custom home menu] this is much less intuitive / necessary.

The user beginner that enable [Show icons] see the result immediatly. ok
I m pretty sure that this same user who have use first time [custom home menu] without see [select icon] don't think to go back in [custom home menu] for customise icon

In same way if I understand well with [replace widget fanart with background] disable in [settings list] the option [Backgroung] in [custom home menu] should be hidden. actualy it is not the case. Smile

(PS : I think [home menu style] must be in the first place before [custom home menu] in settings list) Smile

I 'm agree ... but it is massive topic. an other day perhaps Smile

All I want to say is that if the [home menu style] layout can use icon the option [select icon]  in  [custom home menu] must be always display without to rebuilt all the skin or without break all logic.  Big Grin

thank for reading and sorry for to be boring a bit (a lot) and for my english.

Is there a way to show maybe the Oscar winners in the Netflix view(s)? More prominently than the default media tags, since sometimes it cuts off when there's too much information listed.

Can you explain this in more detail please? Smile

Actualy if you navigate on the widget items, the widget slide to left or to right  :
1 - when you go back to the home menu the widgets stay to last position.
2 - or when you navigate to an other widget with UP or DOWN the last widget focused stay to last position.

Like this :

My suggestion is settings for reset all widgets position after a tempo 3s for example when:
1 - you go back to the home menu
2 - the widget is not focus anymore

It's clearer for you ? Big Grin

In which was? As text? Which media tags do you mean? Do you mean the "Netflix" view? Screenshots could be helpful Smile

Maybe the icon with the number of awards next to it? And then maybe next to the genre, or somewhere in that region?

I agree Smile I have read your comments carefully. The subject is quite difficult to understand. Perhaps it is also because it is already late. So you mean an option for "show icons" in "customize home menu" which appears depending on the selected layout?
