Hi Everyone!

Kodi is the ultimate media-center for me (and for lots of others I think). However it would be great if I can use it as a regular AirPlay Mirroring device.
I know that this is not supported by a long-time ago, just for older iOS versions, but maybe someone has a method to use it anyway.
My hope is that out on the market these DroidBox and other vendors which has Kodi media center built in (I know it is Android anyway) has AirPlay Mirroring method for the newest iOS as well!

Also there are other methods out there which can turn a Windows PC into an ultimate cast device (AirPlay/Chromecast/Miracast, etc...), but not a Linux based RPi.

Really, there is no known method to use it nowadays? I know that is because of Apple, but maybe....

Airplay mirroring is unlikely to ever be supported in kodi again. It's a proprietary protocol with encryption which makes it very hard to support.
What exactly do you want to send to kodi? If it's just something like videos played in browser then DLNA (UPnP) is an option (e.g. I use an iPhone app called Allcast TV).

Yes I know that and I'm very unhappy because of that Apple made this protocol that secure (I think mainly for the reason to block 'unverified' access by not Apple-badged products).
Thanks, Allcast TV looks great, it solves one issue.
Anyway I use Chromecast mostly to view YouTube videos and Google Photos on my TV and to cast Android phone screen. Only thing I want is to be able to cast iOS screen to the TV, because some apps would be great if I can view it on the TV.

If there are other methods, rather than AirPlay which can share the device screen (I think there is no permission in iOS to do that), that would be also good for me.

Mirroring was never supported in Kodi. You mixed it up with Video and Picture AirPlay that works only for older iOS Versions.

Thanks for letting meg know! I didn't know that mirroring and Video AirPlay is not the same (or at least if the one works, the other one should work as well).

Thanks again! So out of curiosity, AirPlay Mirroring and Video is only possible to include if you pay to Apple and they accept it, right?

So if a device supports it (like I mentioned these Android based media-centers which is usually shipped with Kodi) they have payed to Apple (or cracked it)?

I don‘t know what those android based media centers do. Mirroring can‘t be licensed from apple at all. Only airplay for music can be integrated in other devices.
Most solutions in the wild are using iOS binaries that they call the encryption / decryption functions from. Shipping and using those binaries is breaking apple policy or even might be illegal. So Kodi would never integrate that solution .
Only open source code can be integrated and there is simply none for mirroring.

So hoes does this work; you add this line and it basically sits waiting for the connection and then once it gets connected it kills Kodi for the duration? Does it restart it again after?

I tried it on both OSMC and libreelec and neither work due to dependencies sadly. 

I started out with Buster and have it working on a Pi 3 with Kodi and steam link installed as well. though no way to add a steam link launcher it seems
