Did you try to install CoreElec 9.2.0 with Kodi 18.4 on your box ? Kodi on CoreElec runs much better/with more options than on Android, and so do heavy addons also. You install it to an uSD card and it leaves your internally installed Android intact, so you can use it at will.

@Ranec Hello, the described problem is outside the scope of the add-on, since the add-on just pass a manifest doesn't do any audio/video processing by itself. So is a problem with the specific device/os/audio configuration/audio equipment can be many things.

Hi, thank you so much for this great addon. Now I can stream Netflix, Amazon Prime and HBO on my favorite media center.

This addon works flawlessly on my Nvidia Shield, but not on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016).

This is a picture of the issue: https://imgur.com/a/c0kQ7zB. It happens with every stream, no matter if it is a video or a tv show. After many updates, the issue is still there.

@jsegovia612 Hello, please post full debug logs and don't paste them on the forum just provide a link to the log, instruction how to do it can be easily found on the initial post.
From the portion of log you provided is clear the add-on did its part of the job with no issues so the issue lies elsewhere. There is a Key system request ERROR so I guess your version of widevine is outdated,  which will prevent the official app to work as well. Please check the current widevine version on the device (try widevine info in add-on settings in DRM section or https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai...info&hl=en). On Android widevine is part of the OS and shipped with the OS.
For further help/ideas please post your current widevine version and a full debug log.

Can anyone even confirm for sure that is getting 5.1 audio with the official app?

Some time ago, while working on Spain/Nordic handler in the add-on, a user using the nordic region reported getting DD+ with the add-on in that region but I wasn't able to confirm that, so not sure.
But Hbo Nordic/Spain uses a different api, different provider, different implementation and a different set of rules.

Hello @arvvoid, first of all a big thank you for your great add-on. It is much better than the official Android TV app.

I'm from Spain too and can confirm that I have true 5.1 surround sound with the official app and your add-on running on my NVIDIA SHIELD TV (with latest firmware), but your add-on has a strange behaviour when getting 5.1 sound (version 2.0.22) under Kodi 18.5. When playing a video, if I go to Settings (the cogwheel) -> Audio Settings, Kodi shows the following:

- English DD+ (X channels)
- English AAC (2 channels)
- Spanish DD+ (X channels)
- Spanish AAC (2 channels)

Where 'X' is a random number (0, 2, 3, 4...) This number is changed whenever I select another audio track and then the DD+ track is selected again.

If I select a DD+ audio track, I get no audio at first, but about 5 seconds later I can get 5.1 audio according to my AVR (there are 5.1 input channels) and it seems true surround sound to me. In addition, If I resume the same video and the DD+ track was selected before, I get 5.1 sound from start so I think this could have a solution at least for Nordic/Spanish version. Notice Kodi is incorrectly reporting the channel number in the DD+ track. I don't have any problem getting 5.1 audio from start with Netflix and Amazon VOD add-ons and I can provide a full debug log if needed.

Finally, I'd like to report a little bug regarding the video category shown on the video list. Your add-on always shows the 'Series / HBO Go / ...'  text even when displaying movie titles ('Series / HBO Go / Movies'). Maybe a translation typo? My suggestion is to use the generic 'Videos' word always ('Videos / HBO Go / ...') like Netflix and Amazon add-ons do.

@boblo Hello, the audio switch is not really an add-on issue. Since this is not handled by the add-on directly the add-on just passes a manifest. On some platforms, the audio switch is instant on some isn't. Ofc you can post a full debug log, but if it's just a delay in the switch then that's probably not an issue just the time it gets to perform the switch. The random number of channels shown is probably just a display minor bug it can be in the skin used, Kodi itself or inputstream.adaptive can you take a screenshot to get an idea and a full debug log.

Hbo go doesn't mark the 5.1 streams as default in the manifest atm and there is currently no way to control that at least not without complicating things unnecessarily.

My suggestion that I already gave couple of posts before, would be Under Settings / Player/ Language disable "Prefer Default audio streams" in Kodi. This should make Kodi not chose the audio stream marked as Default but the one that matches the selected language and with the most channels/best encoding first.
That should give you the 5.1 streams from the start always.

As for the second issue the Spain/Nordic handler probably sets the content type to series and leaves it like that for all content will look into it.

I'm using the default skin (Estuary). What about if I disable the 'Prefer Default audio streams' setting and Kodi is reporting 0 channels from time to time? Keep in mind the number of channels is a random number, even could be 0. Then the 2 channel stereo track would be the best pick, right? IMHO I think this is not a solution. If you could find out the number of channels in a video with your add-on and override the number of channels reported by Kodi, maybe that would be a real solution.

Regarding the video category bug, I have realized that this typo is NOT present on Amazon VOD... so this could be a typo only present on Netflix and your add-on, who knows... Amazon VOD shows the generic label 'Videos / Amazon VOD' when displaying movie and serie titles.

@boblo Well in theory the manifest could be parsed and  edited add-on side and the 5.1 streams marked as default instead of the 2.0 ones and then passed on (preferably this should be done optionally if an option to do it is enabled in add-on settings, this would be a workaround) but I personally don't have access to the Nordic/Spain region (geoblocking + no account there) so experimenting with this would be unpractical and very time-consuming for me. But someone from the region with an account and the will to do it is welcome to send a pull request if menage to get it working that way.

Apart from this, since it seems the video category bug is a common bug between your add-on and Netflix VOD...you could get in touch with the add-on developer to talk to him about this cosmetic bug. I think that would be useful for fixing this bug on both add-ons. Remember that Amazon VOD is not affected.
