Release IPTV Merge
@izprtxqkft
Thanks for the quick reply.
Actually, I think it is the other way around - Samsung TVPlus re-streams Pluto TV?

Yes, the Samsung ones are working for me still, however not all Pluto channels are on Samsung, (and vice-versa). I have made my own m3u playlist from channels in @matthuisman 's Pluto and Samsung UK and US lists that I update regularly. Where a channel is duplicated on more than one service, and is showing exactly the same programming at the same time, I have used the Pluto TV UK version over the Samsung or Pluto US ones. My playlist has something like 400 channels in it.

If this loss of Pluto is going to be permanent, then I will have to rewrite my playlist using the Samsung channels - but I'd like to know first what the situation is before I embark on that task!

in regards to pluto playlists, see https://github.com/matthuisman/slyguy.addons/issues/657 and https://torrentfreak.com/dazn-dmca-notic...ms-240108/

@matthuisman
Thanks for the reply.

Hopefully you will find a way to restore the Pluto playlists - possibly by excluding the "offending" DAZN channels?

Are you hopeful that a resolution will be found, (eventually), or is it likely to be more trouble than it's worth?

Not sure if this is where this belongs or not - but trying to do anything in Pluto gives me unexpected errors that start with:

gzip.BadGzipFile: Not a gzipped file (b'<h')

I can zip a log but first checking if a) that first error message identifies an obvious issue/solution, and b) this issue goes here or should be a new thread.

Got it - but I'm not a coder so not sure how to use the work-around solution with Kodi running on a Win10 box.

Appreciate what you and your compadres do.

Yeah, having to run your own docker containers does raise the bar to entry a bit, but I'm not sure what else we can do about it.

And doh! I haven't coded in a loooong time (corporate systems) so not even sure how'd I'd figure that out.  Makes me appreciate what you guys do that much more.  Hopefully this and / or the Hulu addon will be back up and running when the next Kodi release drops.

Thanks.

Also, none of my existing Pluto TV channels from older versions of those playlists appear to be working either. Have Pluto TV changed something to prevent them from working, (geoblocking?)?

The standalone official Pluto TV app is working, (in the U.K.) - I haven't tried either the "official" Kodi Pluto add-on or Matt's one.

try the samsungtv plus ones https://i.mjh.nz/SamsungTVPlus
plutotv just re-streams those anyway

Simpleton question, using the (https://i.mjh.nz/SamsungTVPlus) is there a basic version of putting together m3u8 & getting epg in iptv merge. I'm trying to process, and think I am being a little slow (enjoy stingray channels & now are not working through stremium)

1) install my samsung tv plus kodi add-on (https://www.matthuisman.nz/2021/06/samsu...dd-on.html)
2) go to that addon -> settings -> live tv & epg ->Setup IPTV Merge
3) say yes to prompts
4) done

Will that apply to the Sony Pluto app as well?

no. kodi or kodi addons cant talk to other apps on the system. Not how the system works

@dshorrosh

Maybe what is confusing you is that "Android apps" appears as a sub-heading under "Add-ons", (at least it does on my Firestick running Kodi v19)?

From there, it is possible to launch other Android apps, but they have to be installed and configured separately - either from the Play Store of sideloaded.

once my pluto tv playlists are back up (see https://github.com/matthuisman/slyguy.addons/issues/657),
then you can do the same process as Samsung TV add-on with my Pluto TV addon Smile
