Is there - additionally to Appendix V: List of Built In Controls and Window IDs - any description available describing the function/purpose of each window and when it is activated? For example, I still don't know the purpose of DialogSlider.xml or Pointer.xml.

there's no such list available afaik...

DialogSlider.xml is used for various video settings (contrast / brightness / zoom amount / etc..) as well as audio & subtitle offsets.

Pointer.xml is the mouse cursor.
