Thread #318032 shows that in some network environments people have playback issues resulting from the way that as FernetMenta put it, "PVR was designed to work in a LAN, not WAN." While for most installations this works great, in others -- perhaps over a VPN remote connection or remote wireless link -- it could be incredibly useful to have an advanced option in the PVR settings that enables buffering for playback within the component. Perhaps it could be an expert option that defaults to the way that most would use it without any sort of buffering.
